Chinese interest in international soccer is still increasing after the sale of Aston Villa to a Chinese businessman. Besides, the Chinese company Ali Baba has been reported to be in conversations to become sponsor of FIFA.

Aston Villa has become the first European club of 100% Chinese ownership, and it is expected to be back into the Premier within a season.

Additionally, in March, Dalian Wanda signed a FIFA sponsorship deal, and a Chinese consortium is negotiating the acquisition of AC Milan
